Women & Cancer

The part of cancer care we don't talk about enough.

When a woman is diagnosed with cancer, the medical system mobilizes. Scans, treatment plans, protocols. That part is visible — and it matters.

What is less visible is everything around it. The conversations at home that change overnight. The partner who is suddenly also a caregiver. The children who sense more than they are told. The question of who she is when treatment ends and everyone expects life to simply continue.

The National Cancer Institute describes adjustment after treatment as both physical and emotional. Feelings and concerns can remain as appointments become less frequent and everyday life resumes.

And it is rarely only the patient who carries it. Partners and caregivers also face changes in their roles, relationships and everyday responsibilities.

This is the human side of cancer that For Humanity brings into focus: conversation, relationships and everyday life. Human support for people during and after cancer — and the people beside them.

Cancer doesn't end when treatment ends. Neither should support.
